2022 EC Spring Golf Outing Recap
Monday, May 23, 2022, was a beautiful spring day to enjoy the sun, get in some exercise, and enjoy a great fellowship all while supporting the mission of Eastern Christian School! The efforts of sponsors and golfers raised $53,981, beating last year’s EC Golf Outing which was also a record!
This event was sold out 5 weeks in advance and our 33 foursomes of 132 golfers came together at Wild Turkey Golf Club in Hamburg, NJ. The day started with a putting contest and a grilled lunch of burgers and hotdogs, followed by the scramble format outing.
Hole 14 was our “Beat the EC Golf Team Member” with our two seniors, Hank Hagedoorn and Evan Hopeck, helping to raise extra funds for EC by trying to hit the best shot. Soo Brown, Executive Director of the Foundation for EC, tried to sell their better shots to the foursome for a donation. This was especially fun when both players fathers stopped at the hole.
The fun day concluded with some time of mingling, a delicious buffet dinner, and announcement of winners under a big top tent.
This event was coordinated by the Golf Committee; Kurt Faber (Chairman), Henry Hagedoorn, Dwayne Leegwater, Scott Martin, Bill Van Hoff; to volunteers Sue Leegwater and Laura Steenstra, and to the EC Foundation office.
